PUP: The Dream is over (MC)

Pup’s new album is called “The Dream Is Over”—those were the exact words a doctor said to singer and guitarist Stefan Babcock after discovering a bleeding cyst on one of his vocal cords. Considering that the band—rounded out by drummer Zack Mykula, bassist Nestor Chumak, and guitarist Steve Sladkowski —had played over 450 shows in the past two years to promote their debut album, it’s perhaps not surprising that this happened. But while Pup had to end 2015 by canceling their remaining shows, the fact that they announced “The Dream Is Over” live on stage in front of a sold-out crowd in February 2016 proves that the dream is still alive! After two grueling years on the road, the dream is simply a little different from what the four of them had once imagined.
