Despite its long history, the trombone has only a small chamber music repertoire. Jörgen van Rijen, first trombonist of the Concertgebouw Orkest, has established a fruitful cooperation with the string quartet in this context. And so "Mirrored in Time" presents a collection of arrangements as well as attractive new compositions that respond like an echo to a preceding arrangement in each case. Virtually a springboard for the further development of chamber music for trombone.
