Popis
In the fourth edition of his "Schubert+" series, which will consist of eleven parts, Can Cakmur focuses on the impromptu genre. He wants to identify historical precursors for Franz Schubert's piano writing and gain an insight into the development of independent poetic compositions for keyboard instruments. Franz Schubert's famous Impromptus set D 899 is at the center of this recording. Cakmur also presents two Impromptus by Jan Vaclav Vorisek, a composer who was praised by Beethoven and seems to anticipate Schubert. Four works by Frédéric Chopin and two by Alexander Scriabin complete the program and testify to the composers' preference for this free form, which can romantically express a moment, a feeling or a mood. Can Çakmur's recent recordings, which place Schubert's major works for piano alongside works by other composers, have been enthusiastically received by the international press, winning two consecutive ICMA Awards (a first in the history of the awards) for Solo Recording of the Year and Young Artist of the Year. She also received the Choc de Classica, the Diapason d'Or, Album of the Month from International Piano and full marks from Crescendo, Gramophone, Pizzicato and several other magazines.
