Child prodigy Ida Haendel began playing the violin at the age of three, and later, after placing second in the 1935 Wieniawski Competition, she candidly confessed to never having practiced much. With Geoffrey Parsons she succeeded in two wonderful productions full of tasty sweets, whose technical playing demands are extraordinary, not only in the popular encore pieces.
