Popis
"A Day In Nashville" is Robben Ford's latest work. This album can confidently be described as "old school" for several reasons. The talented blues singer and guitarist recorded the entire album in just one day, which is an absolute exception these days. "You don't really do that anymore. Nine songs, so much new music - that normally takes a lot of time. I sat down, recorded demos on which I sang and played acoustic guitar and sent them to my band. I thought, if we could pull this off, that would be something!" So he did, together with the five extraordinary musicians Audley Freed (guitar; Black Crowes), Ricky Peterson (keyboards; David Sanborn), Brian Allen (bass; Jason Isbell), Wes Little (drums; Sting) and Barry Green (trombone; Tony Bennett). "A Day In Nashville" is an album that cannot be pigeonholed. Despite the red blues thread that runs through the entire album, each song develops in its own musical direction, resulting in a colorful potpourri of blues, jazz, acoustic and R'n'B elements. "A Day In Nashville" was recorded in the legendary Studio Sound Kitchen in Nashville, and the atmosphere there also had an influence on this work. Many famous artists such as Dolly Parton, The Dixie Chicks, Tim McGraw and many more rave about this studio and Robben Ford also joins the ranks seamlessly. "It's not easy to do what we did in one day, but the atmosphere there helped us a lot. It was a great experience." "A Day in Nashville" is the perfect follow-up to "Bringing It Back Home", although this time Ford wrote seven of the nine songs himself. "I enjoy recording other songs in my own version, but now I wanted to write new songs myself again." Robben Ford is one of today's most senior electric guitar players, best known for the blues he plays on it, as well as his ability to be comfortable in a variety of musical contexts. An important and integral part of Robben Ford's career is that he is incredibly dedicated to passing on and teaching what he has learned over the past 40 years to future musicians.
