Woody Shaw: Live In Bremen 1983 (Deluxe Edition 2CD)

A complete, previously unreleased live performance by the brilliant trumpeter in Germany, digitally remastered from the original master tapes. Although Woody Shaw presented his quintet with trombonist Steve Turre on his 1983 European tour, Turre was not present at the January 18, 1983 show in Bremen for unknown reasons, so Shaw is heard throughout in quartet format with Mulgrew Miller on piano, Stafford James on bass and Tony Reedus on drums. As Shaw was rarely recorded in quartet format, this edition is an essential addition to his overall output.
