With "Rhythm And Repose" Glen Hansard is exactly where he always wanted to be: directly with the audience. To do this, he has reduced the sound to the most emotionally necessary, as in the song "Love Don't Leave Me Waiting" with its gentle muscle-shoals vibe. Or as in "Philander," in which Hansard's voice unfolds an intensity never heard before. "Rhythm And Repose" shows an artist at the height of his creative powers. The release of the album is flanked by a joint tour with Eddie Vedder and a contribution to the soundtrack of the Hollywood blockbuster "The Hunger Games".
