Depeche Mode: Black Celebration

Black Celebration is Depeche Mode's fifth studio album and is considered one of the band's darkest and most atmospheric works. All eleven songs were written by Martin Gore, and he sings four of them himself - A Question of Lust, Sometimes, It doesn't matter and World Full of Nothing. With the album title "Black Celebration", Depeche Mode laid a false trail. Despite its dark character, the songs on the record are not about occult acts or black masses. Instead, Martin Gore writes about feelings and the dark side of life, which also includes a large portion of boredom. At the end of a black day, we can still celebrate that it's finally over. In her home country, "Black Celebration" reached number 3 in the UK charts. In Germany, the album climbed to number two, and in Switzerland it even reached number one in the charts.
