Leonard Cohen: Ten New Songs (LP)

What was released in 2001 under the succinct title "Ten New Songs" is a brilliant album by Canadian poet Leonard Cohen, who together with his arranger and co-writer Sharon Robinson has immortalized a piece of deep personal life experience on CD. The songs may not develop their lyrical power at first listen, but after repeated gouting, songs like "In My Secret Life," "A Thousand Kisses Deep" and "Boogie Street" present themselves as timeless diamonds in Cohen's unprecedented oeuvre.
