Pärt, Arvo - Tabula rasa / Special edition CD+kniha+noty

In 1984, ECM brought a new sound into the musical world with the release of Arvo Pärt’s Tabula rasa, the first album on the label’s New Series imprint.Now, on the occasion of Pärt’s 75th birthday, this special edition with enclosed CD has been produced by ECM in collaboration with the composer’s publisher, Universal Edition. It includes previously unpublished manuscript scores of Tabula rasa and Cantus in Memory of Benjamin Britten, and study scores of the album’s four works, as well as Wolfgang Sandner’s 1984 liner essay, and a new introductory note for this edition by Paul Griffiths. Rounding off the volume is a discography of Arvo Pärt’s works on ECM with corresponding publishing details. Mit Arvo Pärts Tabula rasa kam im Jahr 1984 ein neuer Klang in die Musik, und mit diesem Album eröffnete Manfred Eicher bei seinem Label ECM die Reihe New Series. Aus Anlass des 75sten Geburtstags von Arvo Pärt entstand diese Sonderausgabe mit eingelegter CD in Zusammenarbeit mit der Universal Edition in Wien, dem Verlag des Komponisten. Sie präsentiert den ursprünglichen Text von Wolfgang Sandner für die Schallplatte mit Kommentaren zu allen darauf enthaltenen Werken sowie eine Einführung von Paul Griffiths in dieses Projekt. Dazu erscheinen hier die bisher unveröffentlichten faksimilierten Handschriften der Partituren zu Tabula rasa und Cantus im Memory of Benjamin Britten, gefolgt von sämtlichen Studienpartituren und einer Diskographie aller bei ECM erschienenen und bei Universal Edition verlegten Kompositionen Arvo Pärts.
