Glass: Archive Volume 2 - Orchestral Music

Two world premieres of orchestral music by Philip Glass – one a vivid “dance for Dennis Russell Davies and Orchestra”, which paints a musical impression of the colourful Rocinha neighbourhood of Rio de Janeiro; and the other an orchestral and choral suite written for a Robert Wilson theatrical installation re-telling the myth of Persephone – are paired on the second album in a new series of recordings taken from the composer’s extensive archive.
