Campra: Requiem

Once though of as merely a missing link between Lully and Rameau, Campra is now considered one of the 'great names' of French music. His Requiem Mass dates from the period when he was maitre de musique at Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris. Philippe Herreweghe's 1987 recording, now available at mid-price in the hmGold series, is regarded as one of the great classics of the French Baroque discography.
