Popis
When Johann Friedrich Fasch (1688-1758) at the age of 34 began his life as court kapellmeister of Anhalt-Zerbst, he had already made a name for himself as a composer of secular as well as sacred music in Central Germany and in neighbouring countries. From 1728 he carried out an extremely successful "Musicalien=Wechsel" from Zerbst between Dresden (Pisendel), Darmstadt (Graupner), Hamburg (Telemann) and other surrounding residences. This enabled him to always be "up to date" in terms of musical style and to secure his position as one of the most significant composers of the early 18th century. We have now newly produced a representative cross-section of his work and are once again putting up for discussion an undeservedly almost forgotten baroque master: with the overture in D minor for chalumeau, 2 oboes, bassoon, violino concertato and strings, 3 cantatas and a chalumeau concerto in B flat major. The soloists are Klaus Mertens and Deborah York, and the Israeli ensemble Accademia Daniel, conducted by Shalev Ad-El, plays on original instruments.
