Muffat: Suiten und Konzerte

50 years earlier Georg Muffat lived and worked at the Salzburg court, but not without restrictions, as he had to share his musical work with lgnaz Franz Biber. If the latter was considered the best violinist of his time, Muffat was "the head of the Catholic organists" But it was not only organ playing that fascinated him, it was precisely in the field of orchestral music that he became a pioneering force in the German-speaking world. In Paris he had studied with Lully and in Rome with Corelli, one of whom stood for the French overture suite, the other for the Italian concerto. Muffat appropriated both forms and thus created the "mixed German style" in two wonderful collections: the "Armonico Tributo" of 1682 and the "Florilegium" of 1695 / 98 i am proud and happy to be able to present you one of the best ensembles of baroque music, which took the title of the first collection as its name, Armonico Tributo under Lorenz Duftschmid, with a wonderful selection of Muffatsch suites and concerti. The poetic titles alone arouse curiosity: "Inseparable Friendship", "Noble Youth", "Who's There?", "Coronatio Augusta". This recording is definitely also a Coronatio cpo!
