Gibson Jon: The Dance

The new album Dance by composer Jon Gibson is presented by Orange Mountain Music. Gibson, long associated with the Minimal music scene from the very beginning in both San Francisco and New York. He was a founder member and performer with the Philip Glass Ensemble. Gibson has performed in the premier of In C by Terry Riley, and Drumming by Steve Reich, as well as Reich’s 1967 composition Reed Phase, which Reich wrote especially for him. Gibson has for a number of years been working extensively in the world of dance. This release includes recent and older dance pieces including recent commissions for choreographer Nina Winthrop.
