Popis
He was one of the most fascinating figures of German Romanticism: E. T. A. Hoffmann, a Prussian councillor of court, poet, bandmaster, composer and draughtsman. Throughout his life he was torn between his love of poetry and music. He considered himself the greater musician, we know better today: he gave his own best in his novels and stories
Nevertheless, it is of course absolutely exciting and worthwhile to devote oneself to the musical oeuvre of this universal genius, which after all comprises over 80 compositions, half of which alone consist of works for the stage
cpo has once again done pioneering work and, in collaboration with the Hoffmann music researcher Prof. Dr. Werner Keil, has edited and recorded the most important works for the first time: a small musicological sensation in every respect!
So you can now hear for the first time
The two overtures to the play "The Cross at the Baltic Sea", the two opera overtures to "Love and Jealousy" and "The Potion of Immortality" and the complete ballet music "Arlequin"
The Deutsche Kammerakademie Neuss under Johannes Goritzki is the best possible advocate for these early romantic trouvailles !
