Rone: Room With A View (2LP)

The fifth album by Erwan Castex aka Rone is a milestone for the Frenchman. It was conceived in parallel with a live show commissioned by the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris and developed together with the choreography collective (LA) HORDE and 20 dancers* from the Ballet National de Marseille. This new collaborative approach led Rone to his most sincere and far-reaching productions to date, which is also a return to his roots and the set-up of his early records: purely electronic, recorded solo and without musical partners. At the same time, it offered him the opportunity to step out of his own comfort zone through this new kind of collaboration. The production of the associated show inspired the music and vice versa. "Room With A View" functions as a self-contained work in its own right, and yet it was created as a tightly intertwined structure of modern dance and electronic music.
