The music world has Robert J. Vidal (1925-2002) to thank for the fact that classical guitar music is so richly represented on the major Warner label. As a producer, festival organizer, and friend and patron of many internationally renowned soloists, he also created the Panorama de la Guitare series, the fruits of which are united here in a fascinating box of 25 CDs - remastered in modern fashion, of course. It is a world of its own that one can wander through here - from early Baroque works to Baroque Bach and Scarlatti transcriptions as well as Classical and Romantic music to Heitor Villa-Lobos or Leo Brower, who can be heard alongside other great soloists himself - including Angel Romero, Turibio Santos, María Luisa Andino or Óscar Cáceres.
