It should come as no surprise that Van Morrison recorded a skiffle-inspired album, as Van Morrison's love of skiffle goes back to his childhood. He spent a lot of time in the famous Atlantic Records record store in Belfast listening to early 20th century folk, blues and jazz. It wasn't long before Van Morrison was playing in a skiffle band at school. Several decades later, Van Morrison revisits his love for the genre with his new album, Moving On Skiffle, due out March 10, 2023. The focus track "Streamline Train" announces the upcoming album with a total of 23 tracks. With "Moving On Skiffle," Van Morrison takes a musical style that exploded in Britain in the mid-1950s and infuses it with a level of sophistication and soulfulness.
