"He's a brilliant mind who not only innovates music, but also gives young talent in his own band an opportunity to develop and grow." With his band Oracle, Kendrick Scott has recorded two Blue Note albums to date, "We Are The Drum" (2015) and "A Wall Becomes A Bridge" (2019). Now releasing his third work, "Corridors," the Houston-born drummer and composer takes an exciting new approach by forgoing the two melody-defining instruments of piano and guitar for the first time, and instead of his full band Oracle, he now relies on a trio with saxophonist Walter Smith III and bassist Reuben Rogers. "Corridors" consists of eight original compositions and a new arrangement of a Bobby Hutcherson classic.
