In round three, Disclosure clearly state their mission: the English band's new album is simply and aptly called "Energy". What's new is that the brothers have combined their catchy dance tracks with the energy of hip-hop for the first time. "The decisive factor for the choice of songs was really this word: energy", comment the brothers Guy and Howard Lawrence, who have distilled their most concentrated work to date from around 200 song ideas (11 songs, 39 minutes). While the title single comes with a sample by Eric Thomas, which also serves as a motto and mantra for the new album - "Where your focus goes, your energy flows" - Guy and Howard once again prove their flair for great guest appearances: with Common, Aminé & slowthai, Mick Jenkins and Channel Tres, rappers are also guests on Disclosure for the first time! Fatoumata Diawara is also back, Blick Bassy brings French into play, Kehlani & Syd join forces and Kelis is allowed to issue the warning "Watch Your Step" right at the beginning. Back in 2013, the duo triggered a veritable "Disclosuremania" (NME) with their mix of UK garage, house, electro and a good pinch of pop. The albums "Settle" and "Caracal" immediately reached number 1 in the UK and produced the hits "Latch", "White Noise" and "F For You", among others.
