Released in 1998, Up is the eleventh studio album by R. E.M. The album, which includes the singles "Daysleeper," "Lotus," "Suspicion" and "At My Most Beautiful," is inspired by electronic music and uses a wide range of instruments to create a dreamy pop landscape that is thoughtful and atmospheric. This expanded 25th anniversary deluxe edition also features a complete, previously unreleased live set from the band's appearance on the '90s hit TV series Party of Five. It was the band's first album without drummer Bill Berry. The album was influenced by electronic music, and Stipe stated that several songs addressed the "religious-spiritual versus scientific-technical-modern age."
