Although Italy is not exactly perceived as a jazz nation, time and again musicians emerge there who display a unique flair and play internationally at the highest level. Saxophonist Rosario Giuliani is one of these talented figures. He plays his post-bop with a distinctly Mediterranean lightness and the greatest virtuosity. Italian romanticism crosses here with American jazz - elegant and frenetic at the same time.
