Jasmine Myra is a London-based saxophonist, composer and bandleader whose soulful, cinematic instrumental music has made her one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary music in the UK. Originally emerging from the vibrant creative scene of Leeds, where she studied at Leeds Conservatoire, she has developed close collaborations with many of the city's leading young musicians. Her sound combines euphoric melodies with atmospheric depth and is inspired by artists such as Fabiano do Nascimento and Arooj Aftab. Following the critical acclaim of her debut album "Horizons" (2022) and the breakthrough with her second album "Rising" (2024), Myra's third album "Where Light Settles" marks a significant artistic evolution. Self-produced and released on Gondwana Records, the album is a confident and expressive statement that explores themes of duality, growth and renewal through multi-layered ensemble compositions and her distinctive alto saxophone playing.
