"Trixies" - the brand new studio album from Squeeze - could have been their very first album. Written by Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook when they were just 19 and 16 years old respectively, "Trixies" is a concept album born out of fantasy and nostalgia. Inspired by a fictional members' club conceived in the early 1970s and set in the "future" (the 1980s), the album transports you to a world reminiscent of a 1920s or 30s speakeasy - glamorous, smoky and populated by dazzling personalities.
Although the album was recorded as a demo at the time, it was never released and only picked up again decades later. Now, with the skills of today's musicians and producers, the album has been released in its full glory, combining youthful brilliance with mature artistry. Its lyrical themes and narrative breadth provide fertile ground for storytelling and immersive campaign touchpoints.
Reviews of the live performances have already highlighted some of the unreleased tracks, which often have a dramatic, musical-like character, confirming that this is one of Squeeze's most ambitious and imaginative albums to date.
