Mihály Dresch is considered the uncrowned king of Hungarian ethno-jazz. In a career that has now spanned forty years, he has been particularly interested in collaborating with singers and instrumentalists from other genres and different regions of Eastern Europe.
He has performed with folk singers from Transylvania and Fujara players from Slovakia. For his new CD, he has brought the famous American saxophonist Chris Potter on board.
Of course, an "exotic" instrument is not to be missed here either: Dresch himself can be heard playing a fuhun, while a cymbalom can be heard through the virtuoso hands of Miklós Lukács.
