"Sheik Yerbouti" is Frank Zappa's ultimate album. Nowhere has the well-known Zappa formula of crude humor with excellent music succeeded as convincingly as on this 1977 and 78 live recorded and then reworked in the studio double LP. The line-up includes keyboardist Peter Wolf, bassist Patrick O Hearn and drummer Terry Bozzio (Jeff Beck, Debbie Harry, KoRn). "Sheik Yerbouti" is the album debut of recording engineer and Grammy winner Joe Chicarelli (Elton John, U2, Beck and many more). The album title is a parody of the then US No. 1 hit "Shake Your Booty" by KC & The Sunshine Band. Sheikh Zappa bearishly rips on the disco craze on the Grammy-nominated "Dancin Fool." Peter Frampton's pop-rock hit of the time, "I m In You," gets its due on Zappa's "I Have Been In You." "Bobby Brown Goes Down" was banned in the US and became a hit in Europe's gay clubs.
